Link Building Guide

fatjoe vs The HOTH: Which Link Building Service Fits You?

fatjoe and The HOTH compared on link pricing, turnaround, site control, reporting, white label and guarantees, from each company's own site.

fatjoe and The HOTH both sell productised link building: you pick a product and an authority tier, pay a fixed price, and their teams handle outreach, writing and placement. Neither lets you pre-approve the sites on their standard outreach products.

The differences are in price, speed and what sits around the links. fatjoe is a UK fulfilment platform priced in pounds and built around agencies reselling its work. The HOTH is a US company, founded in 2010 according to its site, that sells link products alongside managed SEO retainers and a wider catalogue of SEO services.

Everything below comes from each company's own site, checked October 2026. Nothing here was ordered or tested first-hand.

Pick fatjoe if you want lower entry prices on guest posts and niche edits, a 14-day starting turnaround, a lifetime link guarantee and unbranded CSV reports for reselling.

Pick The HOTH if you want a US-based provider, a single supplier for links plus managed SEO (HOTH X), content and local services, or you're already buying its other products and want links on the same account.

How do fatjoe and The HOTH compare on price?

fatjoe prices its blogger outreach and niche edits on the same ladder, by Ahrefs Domain Rating with a minimum traffic band for each tier. The HOTH prices guest posts by "DA or DR", so a tier can be met on either Moz or Ahrefs metrics, and it prices link insertions separately and higher.

Prices as listed on each site in October 2026. fatjoe's are in GBP and The HOTH's in USD, so convert before comparing. Even allowing for the exchange rate, fatjoe's published tiers sit lower at every matching level, and fatjoe offers a DR10+ entry tier that The HOTH doesn't. fatjoe also takes 10% off for customers on a monthly spend subscription.

The HOTH's hub page lists a few prices that differ from its product pages (Link Outreach "starting" at $175, for example), so check the product page at checkout. Its catalogue also runs wider: Platinum Links for DR50+ editorial placements, press releases from $150, Digital PR from $1,500 a month, and HOTH X managed SEO with plans from $1,000 to $10,000 a month. For a wider view of market rates, see the link building cost guide.

Both describe manual outreach to real, existing sites rather than a network they own. fatjoe says its outreach team contacts bloggers, its writers produce the post, and the article appears as the blog owner's own content rather than a bylined guest post. It checks every order against past placements through the Ahrefs API so a client doesn't get the same domain twice.

The HOTH says every link comes from manual outreach to publishers and that it does not use a blog network. It verifies traffic with Semrush and measures DA with Moz. Its writers produce content of 500 to 2,000 words, depending on the option you choose.

fatjoe places on English-language blogs only, trying local blogs first for UK, Australian and Canadian clients without guaranteeing it. Its niche edits use already-indexed articles, the same idea as The HOTH's Link Insertions.

Can you choose the sites?

On the core outreach products, no, with either company. fatjoe's FAQ says you can't pre-approve placements or content; you choose the DR tier, anchor text, target URL and word count. The HOTH's Link Outreach FAQ says "We do not allow approval before posting this product", and its Platinum Links FAQ says the same.

The exception at fatjoe is Media Placements, a separate PR product where you browse available media sites and choose the one you want. If picking every domain matters, neither company's standard links fit, and a link building marketplace is the better route.

How fast is each service?

fatjoe lists "from 14 days delivery" for blogger outreach and niche edits. The HOTH says Link Outreach turnaround is "~30 days" because the process is manual, Link Insertions approximately 30 days, and Platinum Links four to five weeks.

On published figures, fatjoe is the quicker of the two. Both are estimates, not dates written into a contract, and placements in harder niches tend to take longer with any outreach provider.

Reporting and white label

Both are built for resellers. fatjoe shows every live placement in its dashboard with a snapshot of the site's DR at the time of placement, and you can export an unbranded CSV to pass to clients. The HOTH says "all reports are white-labeled" for resellers and that reports show where links are placed and the site metrics. Its reseller page talks about wholesale pricing and sales materials for agencies.

On guarantees the gap is clearer. fatjoe offers a lifetime link guarantee on blogger outreach and niche edits (removed links are replaced) and a 100% money-back guarantee if an order doesn't meet its stated guarantees. The HOTH replaces broken links for six months, or one year on a discount contract or HOTH X, and replaces unindexed insertions after ten weeks. Its terms say purchases are final, with a 30-day satisfaction window for fixing problems.

Which should you choose?

Choose fatjoe if your priority is cost per link, speed and resale. The lower entry tier suits local businesses and new sites, the 14-day turnaround is roughly half The HOTH's, and the lifetime guarantee covers the link risk that most buyers worry about. It's the more obvious fit for agencies that sell links under their own brand.

Choose The HOTH if you want one US supplier for links, content, local SEO and managed campaigns, or you need someone else to plan the strategy as well as fulfil it. HOTH X gives you a dedicated manager, which fatjoe's self-serve ordering doesn't. If you're in the US and prefer USD billing and US business hours, that counts too.

Choose neither if you need to approve each domain before you pay. Loganix's managed shortlist or a marketplace gives you that control. Our individual reviews of fatjoe and The HOTH go deeper, and the review method explains the criteria.
