The HOTH Review: Link Building Services, Pricing and Fit
The HOTH reviewed from its own published information, covering link building prices, HOTH X managed SEO, turnaround, guarantees and who it suits.
The HOTH is a US SEO company, based in St. Petersburg, Florida, that sells link building, content and managed SEO as off-the-shelf products. You can buy individual links by DR tier, or hand the whole job to its HOTH X managed service from $1,000 a month.
This review is based on The HOTH's own website and terms, checked in October 2026. It follows the site's review criteria and doesn't claim first-hand testing.
Best for: businesses and agencies who want a broad SEO catalogue from one supplier, or a fully managed campaign with a dedicated SEO manager.
Not ideal for: buyers who want to approve sites before placement, need links within a couple of weeks, or work in gambling, pharma, politics or non-English markets.
What is The HOTH?
The HOTH has been running since 2010 and says it has served more than 200,000 businesses. Its catalogue goes well beyond links: blog content, web copy, local SEO, reputation management, technical SEO and "AI visibility" products all sit alongside link building.
As with any vendor that places links for a fee, Google's spam policies apply. Paid links that pass ranking credit without rel="sponsored" or nofollow count as link spam in Google's eyes, which is covered in more depth in is it safe to buy backlinks?.

How ordering works, and how much control you get
For the self-serve products you choose the tier, the target page and the anchor text, and The HOTH chooses the site and writes the content. On both Link Outreach and Platinum Links its FAQ says there's no pre-approval of sites or articles before publication. The Link Insertions page doesn't say either way.
A few practical rules from the product pages:
- Restricted niches include geo-keywords, adult, pharma, gambling, firearms, politics and non-English sites
- Link Insertions bought together can't be spaced out, so buy separately if you want a slower drip
- Outreach placements are "unique" per subdomain for 6 months, so you shouldn't get the same site twice in that window
Turnaround and guarantees
The HOTH is upfront that its manual products are slow: about 30 days for outreach and insertions, and 4 to 5 weeks for Platinum Links.
| Promise | What The HOTH says |
|---|---|
| Broken links | Fixed or replaced for 6 months (1 year on discount tier contracts or HOTH X) |
| Indexing (Link Insertions) | Replaced free if not indexed after 10 weeks |
| Indexing (Link Outreach) | Manual resubmission if not indexed after 90 days |
| Refunds | Terms say no refunds on paid services, all purchases final |
| Satisfaction | Raise a ticket within 30 days of your order report |
| Rankings | Explicitly not guaranteed |
The no-refund clause is worth noting. The 30-day satisfaction route means The HOTH will work with you on a problem, but the terms don't promise your money back.
Reporting and support
Every product comes with a placement report, and the reseller programme says every report and deliverable is unbranded, with one dashboard to track orders. That suits white label link building for agencies. Support is available by phone and through booked calls, and HOTH X clients get a named SEO manager.
The HOTH pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Long track record (since 2010) | About 30 days turnaround on core link products |
| Published prices for every link tier | No pre-approval on Link Outreach or Platinum |
| Broad catalogue, from links to reputation management | Terms say no refunds on paid services |
| HOTH X managed option with a dedicated manager | Link replacement cover is 6 months on standard orders |
| Unbranded reports and a reseller programme | Several niches and all non-English sites excluded |
| Indexing replacement on Link Insertions | Entry tier ($150) is higher than some rivals |
Who should use The HOTH?
